IF YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT FINDING YOURSELF A FANTASI 44…
Trying to find a Fantasi 44 Pilot House is a challenge. Only 21 were ever built, 20 of these were finished by Fantasi Yachts and finally one more, built with some assistance from the yard. This is the last one from Fantasi.
Finishing the F44s was an extremely time-consuming process, drying the teak lumber, veneering panels and finishing every single piece in the old-fashioned carpentry at the yard, customising every bit of the interior, adapting the installations, trimming to perfection every aspect of the build as the series went along and even manufacturing much of the equipment in the yard’s own metal workshop.
After 12 years of production, building one-and-a-half boats per year, the builders were exhausted. Each yacht delivered took up to 3 or 4 times as long to finish as the best built boats from ordinary competing yards in the area (and many times more than that when compared to the big factories in Germany or France). Subsequently, the production was effectively stopped and the yard turned to service and maintenance, with only a couple of one-offs delivered.
THE LAST F44 HULL FINISHED AT FANTASI YACHTS
We are now extremely happy to offer F44 Pilot House #20, ”Vindöga”. The contract was the last one to be signed; she has the highest sail number of this production line and was delivered to her owner in 2005.
A high, efficient rig and a sharp bow add to a very good performance under sail.
Vindöga is built with an eye to the greatest reliability and simplicity in handling and maintenance. She has furlers for all three sails, a Selden in-mast furling and twin headstay furlers. The mainsail has a good roach (the aft edge of the sail) thanks to standing battens, the outer headstay holds a genoa and the inner one a self-tacking jib, perfect for short-tacking in narrow coastal waters or in higher winds. There are three Andersen electric winches for easy handling.

DECK & COCKPIT:
Being the last F44 to be ordered and with the collected experience from all her previous sisters, Vindöga benefits from a wealth of practice. She has one of the best layouts in a F44 Pilot House, offering a very convenient day time heads at the bottom of the stairs, an owner’s cabin forward, and a split cabin aft with berths for 2 + 1 persons. Her standard of fit-out is, like any Fantasi 44, stunning. I believe it is perfectly safe to claim that there is no yacht of this size anywhere built to the same standards.
As with all F44 Pilot House, the main cabin has an all-round view. To starboard is an inside steering positon cum nav. station / office. Two steps down, there is a cosy two-seat downstairs sofa opposite the galley on the port side. The galley is open towards the rest of the yacht and has an amazing sense of space and light.

Vindöga has been lightly used since her first launch, cruising along the Swedish and Danish coasts for a few weeks during the short summer seasons. She has been kept indoors in heated condition during winters and has been professionally maintained by Fantasi Yachts or Rosätra Varv. She is presently laid up at Rosätra.
During the imminent 2016-2017 winter season,Vindöga will be polished to shine as new, her decks will be cleaned and lightly sanded, any signs of wear attended to and she will be fitted with new batteries. There will be very little, if anything, to tell her from a completely new yacht and she will be ready for new owners to move on board.
Until spring 2017 she can be viewed at Rosätra, after launching most likely at her home dock in Resarö, near Vaxholm, Stockholm.
