We had an amazing day out with German “Yacht” magazine, test sailing the Celeste 36 off Marstrand (north of Gothenburg) in blustery winds between 20 and 27 knots. peaking at 33.
As it happened, one of the mainsail reef lines had come loose at the boom end and we had to use the full sail area. This was of course on the verge of being a little too much at times but the Celeste performed beautifully. Michael Good from Yacht writes about two things in particular which impressed – one was that we were able to point very high, doing 70 degrees between tacks at 6,8 knots. The other was how well the C 36 tracked, and steered, even though we were rather overpowered in the gusts.
Now yacht photographer Nico Krauss has generously offered to show pictures from this memorable day on the Swedish coast. (You can see a number of Nico Krauss’ boat pictures, both power and sail, at his website )
