Many have asked how the build of the PPH is going. 4 boats have been sold, actually also another few sales pending. We believe this is rather sensational for a new design. Or should we say, a new yacht based on a new concept?
The answer is that the build is going at full speed.
All parts are being prepared more or less at the same time, in the office, the lamination hall, the assembly hall, the carpentry, the blacksmith shop or the paint booth.
I have a feeling that those who want to see the build are mostly interested to see the first boat, with its cockpit, interior spaces, big windows and pretty detail work. However, these shots will only be possible to share when the first PPH is nearing completion.
So, for today just a few shots from build. We will try to explain as we go:
Getting Everything in the Right Position
The hull is fitted with an aluminium jig to make sure all bulkheads and reinforcements are positioned within millimetre tolerance

Adding Details
Some parts need special attention. In the case of for example the bathroom floor, it needs to be completely watertight, the shower pan needs a water drain with a pump well, it needs to be easy to clean and slip proof. So after a lot of drawing work and deliberations, this is how it comes about:

Structure
In the last picture above, you can see a very solid beam along the hull side. These beams runs the entire hull length at mid-height and interact with the bulkheads, floor grid and hull side panels to make a stiff, monocoque structure.
The floor grid is special too: All the floor beams and the 4 longitudinal girders connecting them are closed also on the underside, before fitting into the hull. The gluing area is up to 4 times greater than in ordinary boats which typically use ‘top-hat’ beams. In addition, the central parts are laminated in place:
Making an interior
Parts of the interior are made outside the boat and carefully fitted before being removed again, and finished in the carpentry shop. Here, the main cabin sofa is tested in place:
