During the past week-end, Marstrand saw a spectacular fleet of classic (pre-war) beautiful wooden 12 metres racing.
Sailing conditions were perfect. We were fortunate to watch one of the races and catch a few images. Enjoy!
The next racing series will be in Copenhagen, followed by Monaco, Newport, Cannes and St. Tropez. Nothing as spectacular as the waters off Marstrand, of course.

These yachts are wonderful to watch also for a yacht designer. We would have loved to do design work for 12s but I doubt we could have improved them much; they were already perfected by our grandfathers. Still, their character can be translated into today’s world, creating slender yachts with an easy motion and good manners. I can’t help showing an image of our 90′ design for a cruising yacht, called Alinea, made a few years ago, still waiting to be built.
